Description

The Indian Rhinoceros, or Greater One-Horned Rhino, is the largest of the three Asian rhino species. Once nearly extinct, it has made a remarkable recovery thanks to intensive conservation in protected floodplain habitats.

Habitat

Alluvial grasslands, floodplains, swamps, and riverine forests in the Terai and Brahmaputra valleys
